DVSA Practical Test Centre

The Warrington DVSA test centre is located off Crab Lane, near the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Routes from this centre cover a wide cross-section of the town, with a strong emphasis on roundabout navigation — which is arguably the most important skill for passing your test in Warrington. Examiners regularly use the routes along Winwick Road, the A49 corridor, and the residential areas around Orford and Bewsey.
Many routes include stretches on the A574 (Cromwell Avenue / Birchwood Way) which test your ability to handle fast-moving traffic, lane changes, and merging. You’ll also encounter residential driving through the Padgate and Woolston estates, as well as the tricky junctions around Cockhedge and Wilderspool. The variety of road types means you need to be prepared for everything, and that’s exactly what our instructors train you for.
